Birdwatching is such a wonderful way to reconnect with nature and to learn about our feathery friends. The easiest way to get started is to start right outside your home. Put out a bird feeder to attract birds, and be sure to change the food often.
Be sure to track the types of birds you see.
Binoculars are a great way to get a good view of the birds.
How do binoculars work?
The first number tells you about the ocular lens and its magnification and it relates to the back lens (closest to your eyes). Essentially this is telling you how powerful the bins are. Binoculars that are 10×42 are telling you that you get a 10 times greater view than your eyes could naturally see. The second number tells the size of the lens. The larger the first number the narrower your field of view.
The objective lens is the lens that is at the front of the bins (furthest away from your eyes). The larger this number is the more light is getting to your eyes.
